The College of Mass Communication and Media Resources works hard to put a college education within your reach. In addition to becoming part of a College family known for its successes across a variety of media platforms, you will have the opportunity to participate fully in University life that will bring a lifetime of memories. There are numerous University-wide grant-funded research opportunities, Study Abroad options, and a University Honors program. You also have the opportunity to be involved in many Registered Student Organizations, including those not directly involved with your major. The University’s Saluki First Year program will help guide your transition into campus life. We have all the information you will need on Financial Aid, and to help estimate costs, we have a tuition and fees calculator already in place. The Bursar’s Office is the place to go for payment information.

In the media profession, breaking news happens at all hours, and getting to a story quickly is important. So remember to apply for Financial Aid early. There can also be different perspectives to consider when telling stories, and the same holds true with tuition. Be sure to review the Border StateSouthern Stars, and Legacy alternate tuition rates.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships are financial aid awarded to a student based upon characteristics other than need. Grades and academic ability, talent, and membership in a group or organization can all be criteria for awarding scholarships. Use the SIUC Scholarship database and the free Internet scholarship search sites to find potential scholarships. Be sure to apply by the listed deadlines.

The deadline for applying to the Scholarship is the last Friday of January, each year the scholarship is open.
