WSIU Public Broadcasting, the public media arm of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, The Women's Center, Incin Carbondale, and the Carbondale Public Library will present a free screening and discussion of the PBS film Kind Hearted Woman this Saturday, April 6 at 2pm at the library, 405 West Main in Carbondale.

Kind Hearted Woman tells the powerful story of Robin Charboneau, a 32-year-old divorced single mother and Oglala Sioux woman living on North Dakota's Spirit Lake Reservation, as she struggles to heal from the wounds of childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence.

A discussion will follow the screening, led by Jo Nast, Visiting Assistant Professor, SIU School of Art & Design and associated faculty with the Native American Studies minor; Dr. Gray Whaley, Associate Professor, SIU History Department and associated faculty with the Native American Studies minor; and Jenn Freitag, Prevention Educator for the Rape Crisis Services program at The Women's Center.
