MCMA 2004 Alumni Achievement Winner: Don Stork
Don Stork has been President of PHD St. Louis since 2002. Prior to joining PHD, Mr. Stork was an Advertising Account Executive with Lynch Advertising, a Media Executive with Gardner Advertising and President of Advanswers, a division of Wells Rich Greene.
Mr. Stork earned his Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 1961 from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Among his many accomplishments, he received the Journalism Alumnus Award and the Alpha Delta Sigma Aid to Advertising Award in 1971.
He also served in the Missouri National Guard and is listed in Whoís Who in America and Whoís Who in the World.
Active in community activities, Mr. Stork is a member of the St. Louis Advertising Club and sits on the Corporate Development Board of the St. Louis Art Museum.
MCMA 2004 Commencement Speaker: Dr. Charles Ramirez Berg
Dr. Charles Ramirez Berg is the University of Texas at Austinís Distinguished Teaching Professor. Author of Latino Images in Film: Stereotypes, Subversion, and Resistance, Professor Berg is a professor of radio, television and film.
He has written many articles on Latinos in U.S. films and on Mexican cinema and has been published in the World Film Encyclopedia and the International Dictionary of Films and Filmmakers.
He has also written screenplays, published fiction and poetry, and co-authored a childrenís book. Dr. Berg was a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow and is a member of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers.
He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Friar Centennial Teaching Fellowship, the Piper Professor Award and the 2004 Chancellorís Council Outstanding Teaching Award for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
