The GMRC is proud to sponsor a presenation by research director and documentary archivist Lewanne Jones on Monday, October 23rd at 4:30 p.m. in Communications 1052 entitled "Using Film Archives in Documentary:Dilemmas of Principle and Practice".
This is a free event and all are welcome.
Ms. Jones has huge experience in using online and textual collections, commercial and non-commercial, both nationally and internationally. She was an Emmy Research nominee in 2005. Over the past ten years she has worked on audio-visual sources for a large variety of projects, including documentaries on President Bush and the religious conservative movement; Pope John Paul II; Senator John Kerry; "Fahrenheit 9/11"; an NBC special, "Saturday Night Live Anthology"; and the Emmy Award-winning PBS series "Free To Dance", on modern African-American dance. She also prepared materials for the new interactive Pope John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington DC. She is currently working on an HBO documentary on global warming, "Too Hot To Handle".
