The Global Media Research Center will sponsor an all-day event on Friday, March 24th, 2006 at the Kleinau Theater entitled "'Race' & Media in Comparative Perspective: Europe, Canada and the Spanish Caribbean".

The event will feature presentations by three experts in this field of research.

This presentation features Yasmin Jiwani (Concordia University, Montreal): 2:00-3:30 p.m. Presentation title: "Discourses of Denial: Mediations of Race, Gender and Violence in Multicultural Canada".
