The Global Media Research Center will co-sponsor with Cinema & Photography Visiting Artist/Critic Series SP'06 a brown bag lunch with Liz Wells (Plymouth University, England) on Monday, March 27th, 2006 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in the Dean's Conference Room (Comm 1032).
The title of Dr. Wells' presentation is "The Baltic Sea Region: Landscape, Geography and Topographic Photography". Photography has a role within cultural geography.
This role is founded on realist principles, on the integrity of the photographer as artist-researcher, and on the credibility of the image. This talk will reference contemporary work by Kate Mellor, Ingrid Pollard, Mark Power, Jem Southam, Olafur Eliasson and Doris Frohnapfel.
This is a free event and all are welcome. For more information, please contact Laura Germann at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 618-453-6876.
