Emeritus Faculty, Cinema and Photography
Charles Swedlund has written a number of photography text books, published photographic objects and portfolios, and co-authored a book on Found Objects.
He taught photography for 27 years at SIU in the Department of Cinema and Photography. Plus, 15 additional years ranging from teaching young children to students at Harvard University.
Mr. Swedlund is represented by the Stephen Daiter Gallery in Chicago and his photographs are in private collections and major museums: The Museum of Modern Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and the International Museum of Photography to list a few here in the United States. His work can also be seen in galleries in France, Belgium, and Japan.
Mr. Swedlund resides in Southern Illinois.
