Understanding Video Codecs – April 22nd
Back in the golden days of cinema, shooting, editing, and distributing was done in just one format: Film. In today’s digital media landscape we switch formats all the time, often without our awareness; we shoot using one codec, edit in an “intermediate” codec, and chose an export codec according to the type of distribution of our project (DVD, web, broadcast, or large screen presentation). Learn about the options and tools available during each of these three processes, most notably Apple’s intermediate codec “ProRes 422” and the transcoding application “Compressor.”
Create & post your own personal website with iWeb – April 29th
This workshop will introduce intermediate concepts regarding web page development using Apple’s “iWeb”. Without any previous web-authoring experience you will not only be able to create your own web site - containing text, photos, movies, and PDFs – but also learn how to publish your site to the SIUC web server. This course is especially recommended to those who wish to create their own online portfolio.
