Join us this Friday, April 13th, 9am, for this week's NMC workshop, entitled:

Implications of video formats and camera codecs on your production workflow

There are vast differences and highly specific properties of video formats and camera codecs associated with modern video capture devices. Awareness of these issues is crucial for aspiring media professionals, since they not only impact the overall look of your product, but can drastically improve the workflow at the editing stage of the production. On the other hand, random choices of formats and codecs often lead to unintended looks and a painfully slow workflow.

This hands-on workshop uses a representative crosscut of all MCMA check-out cameras to demonstrate the importance of a basic understanding of video formats and codecs.

Everyone welcome!

Highly recommended for production students, staff, & faculty!
Location: NMC, Room 9A

Learn about the options and tools available during each of these three processes, most notably Apple’s intermediate codec “ProRes 422” and the transcoding application “Compressor.”
