MCMA's Motyl Takes Top Doc Award

"Cowboy Christmas", the feature-length documentary by MCMA Department of Radio, Television, and Digital Media's Associate Professor H.D. Motyl, was awarded Best Documentary Feature at the Madrid International Film Festival. Motyl was "delightfully surprised" at the announcement at a ceremony on Saturday evening, which he attended with Alicia Healy, the Director of Photography of the documentary, and Alex Kirt, the composer of the film's music. The film won nine other entries from Spain, Canada, and England, among others.

Alex Kirt is an MFA Candidate in MCMA's Interdisciplinary Program, and he performed his compositions along with Mark Stoffel, MCMA's Digital Media Specialist. The documentary is narrated by Jak Tichenor, WSIU Television Producer.
