Cinema and Photography Grad's Sneak Preview of Film
August 03, 2020
In case some of you didn’t know, I wanted to invite you to an event that MCMA is co-sponsoring with the SIU Foundation and the SIU Alumni Association. It’s a special sneak preview screening of I Used to Go Here, written and directed by Kris Rey, a 2003 graduate of Cinema and Photography. The film will stream between 5P and midnight on Thursday, August 6th. I Used to Go Here takes place in Carbondale, as the main character visits her alma mater. Kris shot some exteriors in Carbondale.
The distributor of the film, Gravitas Ventures, gave us permission to stream the film the day before it drops for the public, and the event is underwritten by MCMA Alum Scott Moller. All proceeds (there’s a $10 donation) will go toward the MCMA Student Production and Research Fund.
Some of you have already signed up and while no one is required to participate, I see it as a way to support and enjoy an alumna’s new film while supporting and helping our current and future students with their work.
The trailer and more information about the film can be found at this SalukiFunder site.
Thanks for your consideration.
