Mr. Becker began his 64 year career in broadcasting as an intern at CBS owned KMOX Radio, St. Louis, in 1949. His diverse broadcast career incudes experience as a technician by installing broadcast equipment; an announcer on various radio stations; writing, producing and directing radio and television programs; conceiving promotion, advertising and marketing campaigns for
radio and television stations; a local television account executive, sales manager of three television stations, and general manager of a television station. Mr. Becker facilitated the creation of Ronald McDonald and is the author of the “The Professional Television Salespersons Checklist” which was published by Broadcasting magazine.
Mr. Becker is experienced at raising capital and securing debt for acquiring broadcast stations and has been listed in “Who’s Who in the World” since 1983.
Ralph Becker has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of several corporations; President and majority shareholder of Saluki Investors Corporation and co-founder of TSP that owned and operated four network affiliated television stations; and others too numerous to detail here.
He is a member of the Technology Advisory Council of the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, the Museum of Television & Radio and a life time member of the Broadcaster’s Foundation, and has served on the board of directors of the SIU Foundation which recognized him for Professional Achievement in 1985 when he established the Ralph E. Becker Scholarship Endowment Fund.
He retired from broadcasting in 2012 and now devotes his time to private investing, volunteering to lecture to students interested in a career in communications, and traveling around the world.
