On March 17, 2014 Gary Gunter became Vice President and General Manager of Radio One St. Louis’ properties Hot 104.1FM and Old School 95.5FM. In this role Mr. Gunter is responsible for developing and growing each station’s brand, revenue and audience share by creating and implementing strategic and tactical direction. Ultimately, this direction will provide a positive return for stakeholders, advertisers and listeners in the market. His responsibilities include overseeing all departments within the radio stations including but not limited to Sales, Programming and Marketing/Promotions. 

Prior to Radio One St. Louis, Mr. Gunter held the position of General Sales Manager for Radio One Baltimore’s four media outlets WWIN-FM/AM, WERQ-FM and WOLB-AM. In this role Mr. Gunter was responsible for maintaining and growing the Company’s revenue and revenue share within the marketplace. These revenue goals were achieved across multiple platforms including Radio, Internet and Event marketing through the direction and leadership of a Sales staff comprised of 14 Account Executives generating over 16 million dollars annually. 

Mr. Gunter began his professional career as a Sales Account Executive for Clear Channel Radio in 1995 in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. He caught on fast to the newly created term in the radio industry, “NTR” or Non-Traditional Revenue and began to develop record breaking NTR revenue numbers for the company. 

Gary is a 30-year veteran of Radio sales/ marketing with successful stints in various markets including Chicago, Detroit, Orlando, Baltimore and Pittsburgh. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his accomplishments and sales successes in the media industry. 

Mr. Gunter is a 1986 graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, with a B.S. Degree in Radio and Television Communications and a minor in Journalism. Gary has also been awarded two prestigious Fellowships from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) including an Executive MBA from Georgetown University.
